What a Deal! Get STITCHED for Half the Cost!!!

So yesterday I received an e-mail from the amazing Alma Stoller of STITCHED. In honor of her birthday and because we're half way through the year, she is dropping the enrollment fee for STITCHED to just $40!!! That means that you save $49 from the original enrollment cost. For those who don't know about STITCHED you can read this post all about how I have my very first video workshop premiering in a couple of weeks on STITCHED. It's really a fabulous concept and I bet a whole bunch of you were really tempted a few weeks ago when I mentioned all the amazing instructors and all the fabulous workshops you would have access to. So think about it... but not too much. I'd just do it. :)

All in A Few Week's Time....

My New Fabric :)

Wow- Seriously the months just keep getting away from me. This is a busy one however, we have several family birthdays (including mine), Mother's Day, Article Deadlines, End of the School Year Events, an art/craft fair, and then there's my Art 2 Heart work! That has to be the most rewarding right now. Last week I was able to meet with a group of people who are working with a group of women in India, helping them transition from horrible life experiences to a new life. Then, that same week I was able to meet with a representative of the Mostacillo's de Fe (Beads of Faith) group that Art 2 Heart is helping get off the ground in Flores de Villa, Peru. From both I heard that they need western designers to come along side of them and help them develop products. They want so badly to earn money and when they spend their time creating they of course want it to sell. We were able to get one of our first orders for wire flowers from this group that we then attached to wire wreath frames and debuted them earlier this month. I am happy to say that one (nail biting for me) week later and they had all sold ( I don't even have a picture)!

My Birthday Present!!!
For my birthday my husband took the day off and took me to lunch downtown Mpls. at Brit's Pub. It was nice so we sat on the sidewalk and just enjoyed ourselves! THEN, he took me to Crafty Planet for my birthday surprise which was SURPRISE- I got to pick out fabric! So of course I stocked up on the Echino fabric I know I've raved to you about. I took a pic. Just in case you're curious.

I'm also hard at work on the pdf for my STITCHED class. I got a little slap happy the other night and in an attempt to make the basics of wire interesting I wrote things up article style with captions like "Getting Down and Dirty...(i.e. tips for how to deal with the oil on the wire), and "It's Finisimo" for the information regarding the wire's black finish. So having some fun with that.

The other thing I've got going is a fun announcement, but you'll find my work in both the new Altered Couture and the soon to be released SEW Somerset. I'd love to have you check it out!!!

Introducing My Very Own STITCHED Workshop AND a Giveaway!!!

I am so so excited to share this with you today!!!! It's been in the planning stages for a few weeks now and it's seriously hurt me not to share it.

The big news? I'll be teaching (starting June 1st) my very own online workshop! Wow. It will be hosted by Alma Stoller and is part of the STITCHED Online Sewing and Fabric Workshops, 20+ video workshops taught by some amazingly talented instructors. The cost is $89 and when you register here you are auto-magically signed up for ALL the workshops!!!!That works out to be only $4.45 per workshop! My head just reels when I think of all the cool cool projects and techniques that you can view and review over and over again!

Project Sample for My Class!!!

My workshop is titled A Happy Day Mobile and is a brand new, never before taught, project that I designed to be a great introduction to Stitched Wire Art. I'll share all my tips and tricks for working with steel wire and I'll show you how to create different shapes including hearts, clouds, flowers, and more! I'll also share ways of taking your new skills further and  incorporating elements like vintage book text, patterned papers, metal paints, and fabric scraps to really make your shapes into beautiful little layered works of art. These can be used and adapted to create jewelry, embellishments for scrapbooks, journals, or art quilts, collage art, really wherever your imagination or fancy takes you!  Then, I'll show you how to combine them all into a mobile that's bright, fun, and sure to make any place you choose to hang it, well, happier.
